Collection: Art by Kody Patten

In his own words:

Kody C. Patten inmate #1091721

For as long as I can possibly remember art has been apart of my life, a reflection of my emotions and knowledge. Possibly the deepest reflection of my innermost thoughts, and hell- even my innermost beliefs to this unrelenting and cruel world. But, a truly amazing person in my life once wrote, “underneath all the ugly in the world there is but a glimmer of beauty.” Being able to step away from all the ugly and put out some beauty in a real and raw form back into the world, however small or big, is truly humbling and hopeful for me behind these razor wire fences and concrete walls filled with deep dark memories and seemingly endless days, months, years to come and past. There is but a glimmer of beauty, and I hope to step away from the darkness of this stigma of being a prisoner, being confined and help in some small ways my fellow convicts incarcerated behind these walls go free with some REAL chance of hope at a better, bigger & brighter future. That they are STILL HUMAN!! My name is Kody C. Patten #1091721, and being a Red Giraffe on the Serengeti is the only way I live. Thanks yall!
